KELLEHER NAMED ASSISTANT FIELD HOCKEY
COACH HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate University Head Field Hockey Coach Cathy Foto has named New Hartford, N.Y. native Tracy Kelleher her assistant coach for the 2001 season. "We're really excited to have her," said Foto. "I think the experience she's had with coaching high-level high school players is going to be very valuable to us." Kelleher comes to Colgate from the Clinton Central School district, where she served as the head coach of the varsity field hockey program since 1995. While at Clinton, Kelleher also taught eighth grade mathematics. As a high school coach, Kelleher's teams have enjoyed great success. In 1997, Clinton won the sectional title. Last year, Kelleher's team took the league title, sectional title, and appeared in the state tournament. Clinton's crowning achievement under Kelleher's tutelage came in 1998, when the squad swept the league and sectional levels on their way to claiming the state title. A 1985 graduate of Oneonta State, Kelleher played one year of collegiate field hockey at St. Lawrence University, before earning three letters at Oneonta. She earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and education in May 1985, and added a masters of education from Elmira College in May 1995. |
