COLGATE LACROSSE PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Hamilton, NY - Two Colgate University women’s lacrosse players were recently named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association 2000 Division I All-Academic Squad.

Former tri-captain Anne Currier (Bexley, Ohio), who graduated in May, and senior Lauren Esposito (Merrick, NY) were among 60 student-athletes awarded the honor. Currier, who ended her career at Colgate with 124 career points, graduated with a cumulative grade point average of 3.58, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Esposito, an Economics major, is among the top students in her class with a 3.88 cumulative grade point average. A starting defender, she had 4 points and picked up 25 ground balls during the 2000 season.

To be nominated for consideration a student must have a minimum 3.2 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve player on a collegiate women's lacrosse team, and hold junior or senior class standing.

Under first-year head coach Katrina Silva, the Red Raider women’s lacrosse team ended their season 8-6 overall and came within a goal of winning the Patriot League Championship this past spring.
