ASSISTANT COACH JOSH LIEGL

Josh Liegl enters his second year as an assistant coach for the women's ice hockey team.

Before coming to Colgate, Liegl worked at the University of Finlay.  During his time at Findlay, Liegl coordinated all recruiting efforts in the United States and Canada.  He analyzed video for opponent scouting and instructed and developed goaltenders through game practice and video.

While at Findlay, the Oilers increased their win total in both seasons, the power-play was ranked fourth nationally in '03-04, and the team's goals against average dropped from 2.90 to 2.43.

Prior to his time at Findlay, Liegl was the assistant coach at American International College for one season.  From 1996-2001 he was the assistant coach at L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

A 2001 graduate of Marian College, Liegl was a four year letter winner and an all-MHCA goaltender selection in his final two seasons.  He served as a team captain in his final two seasons and was team MVP from 1996-98.

ASSISTANT COACH STEPHANIE JONES

Jones is the newest member of the women's ice hockey staff.  A 2005 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Jones was named the Hockey East co-Player of the Year and was also named to the New England Hockey Writers Women’s Division I All-Star team this past year. She earned the team’s MVP award, the Karyn Bye Award, and was also the recipient of the Fan Favorite Award during her senior year.

The Kimberely, B.C. native captained the women’s ice hockey squad her senior year and led UNH in goals (23) and was 18th in the nation in goals per game (0.68). She also led the team in game-winning goals (5) and power-play goals (7).

The two-time Hockey East First Team all-star is also a member of the UNH Century Club with 142 career points. Playing in 142 games, Jones netted 78 goals and 64 assists, averaging one point in every game played in four years.

A participant in the 2003 Canada U-22 National Development Camp, Jones was also named the female hockey Athlete of the Year in British Columbia three years earlier after a tremendous career (289-271-560 in 164 GP) at Selkirk Academy.

Bill has worked with some of the best hockey people in the business, including Robbie Fitorek, Tom McVie, Brian Burke and Herb Brooks.

Following his stay with the Devils, Dowsland became a physical education teacher at Hamilton High School in 1997. He took over as head high school hockey coach in 1999.

Dowsland led the team to a 55-33-7 overall record in four seasons. His team placed in the Top 10 in the New York State Division II rankings all four years.
