COLGATE ANNOUNCES 2001-02
MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE August 28, 2001 HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate University men’s basketball team, under fourth-year head coach Emmett Davis, will open its 27-game schedule on Nov. 17 at Long Island University. Colgate’s schedule is both extremely demanding and exciting. Two road games against Top 25 preseason opponents Notre Dame and Syracuse from the Big East Conference highlight the schedule. Also featured are home contests with mid-major programs Northern Arizona and Oral Roberts and Ivy League games against Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale. The addition of American University to the Patriot League adds two games with another quality scholarship program and a new home-and-home series with New Hampshire from the America East Conference has been added to make for a very competitive basketball schedule. The first home game for the Raiders is Nov. 21 against Northern Arizona, while the first Patriot League game is home against American on Jan. 9.
This year’s Patriot League
quarterfinal and semifinal rounds will be held at the Show Place Arena in
Upper Marlboro, Maryland on March 2-3. The championship game is slated to be held at the home site
of the highest remaining seed on March 8. |
