Lalugba Leads Bucknell To
An 80-75 Win Over Colgate
HAMILTON, N.Y. -
Boakai Lalugba scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as
Bucknell downed Colgate 80-75 Wednesday night at Cotterell Court in a
Patriot League game.
Bucknell, which has beaten Colgate in seven of the last eight
meetings, improves its record to 7-11 overall and 3-2 in the league while
the Raiders fall to 9-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
Also in double figures for the Bison were Dan Blankenship with 14,
Bryan Bailey with 13 and Matt Quinn, who netted 10.
Mark Linebaugh and Pat
Campolieta paced the Raiders with 14 points apiece.
Campolieta also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, giving him his
fourth double-double of the season. Martin
Marek added 10 points for Colgate.
The Bison claimed their first lead of the contest at 19-18 with
8:46 to go in the first half and never trailed again.
They lead by as many as 15 late in the contest before the Raiders
had a desperation comeback on two three-pointers by Linebaugh to pull
Colgate to within five points in the final minute of the game.
With his 13 rebounds, Campolieta becomes only the fourth player in
school history to rank in the Top 10 in scoring and rebounding.
He joins Adonal Foyle, Jonathan Stone and Jack Nichols.
He has scored 1,470 points and grabbed 618 rebounds.
Bucknell finished the game shooting 54 percent from the field and
50 percent from behind the arc, while Colgate shot 42 percent from the
field but only 20 percent from 3-point range (4-of-20).
The Raiders also had a miserable night from the charity stripe
making only 15-of-27 attempts. |
