(Complete Release In PDF Format)

HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate men’s basketball team (8-6, PL 0-1) travels to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday for a Patriot League game against preseason and defending champion Holy Cross College (7-10, PL 1-1).  Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. at the Hart Center.

The Raiders have dropped three straight games including their first two Patriot League games.  On Saturday, Colgate was defeated 79--74 at Lehigh, after losing its PL opener against American, 76-59.

Holy Cross opened its Patriot League season with a 70-57 win over Navy before losing at Lafayette, 64-58, on Saturday.  The Crusaders have posted impressive wins over Massachusetts, Fordham and Portland St., while two of their setbacks have been to nationally ranked Boston College.

In the preseason Patriot League Coaches Poll, Holy Cross was picked first, while Colgate came in third.

Against Lehigh, the Raiders saw the Mountain Hawks score the final 13 points for a come-from-behind win at the Stabler Arena.

Sophomore Howard Blue led the Colgate effort with a career-high 24 points, while senior Pat Campolieta scored 23 points to jump from 8th to 6th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,417 points.  Sophomore Mark Linebaugh added 11 points.

Campolieta leads the Raiders in scoring with 15.3 points per game and rebounding with 6.7 caroms per outing.  Campolieta ranks third in scoring and fourth in rebounding in the Patriot League.

He needs 26 rebounds to become only the fourth player in school history to be ranked among the Top 10 all-time leaders in scoring and rebounding.

Blue is second in scoring with 12.5 points per game, while Linebaugh is third with 11.6 points per game.  Dave Hardy is averaging 9.3 ppg and Tim Sullivan 9.1 ppg

Ryan Serravalle leads Holy Cross in scoring with 12.2 points per game.  Also in double figures are Tim Szatko (10.7) and Brian Wilson (10.3).  The Crusaders’ outstanding rookie center Nate Lufkin, four times PL Rookie of the Week, is averaging 8.2 ppg and 5.2 rebounds.
