BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Pat Campolieta scored 24 points and Howard Blue added 20 points to lead six Colgate players in double figures as the Raiders rolled to a 99-87 win over Long Island University in the season opener.

The contest swung back-and-forth in the first half with neither team holding more than a five-point advantage.  JaJa Bey was hot for LIU early, scoring 11 of his 20 points in the opening 20 minutes.  Blue led Colgate in the first half with 13 of his 20 points.

The second half remained tight with five ties and three lead changes.  With Colgate holding an 80-79 edge with 4:32 left to play, the Raiders went on a 19-8 run to close the contest.  Blue, Mark Linebaugh and Tim Sullivan tallied four points apiece in the spurt.

Campolieta finished with his ninth career double-double as he added 10 rebounds to his offensive output.  Linebaugh finished with 15 points and nine rebounds and Sullivan registered 13 points and six caroms.

Colgate converted 39-of-44 (89 percent) from the foul line and outrebounded the Blackbirds, 48-30.
