CAMPOLIETA LEADS COLGATE OVER ALBANY IN FINAL NON-CONFERENCE GAME

Albany, N.Y. - Pat Campolieta had 18 points and nine rebounds, as Colgate posted a 66-58 non-conference victory over Albany on Saturday evening at the Recreation and Convocation Center.

    Colgate (12-11) reversed a 40-39 deficit with eight of the game's next 10 points to take the lead for good.  Sophomore guard Dave Hardy scored five of his 10 points in that stretch, and put his team on top with a three-point field goal.  Howard Blue, a freshman who had 15 points and six rebounds, converted a three-point play, when he was fouled on a follow shot for a 47-42 advantage.

    The Red Raiders, who have won five of their last seven contests, pushed out to a 53-46 lead on a pair of free throws by Blue.  Albany (5-19) cut the margin to three points on three occasions in the stretch, including 61-58 with 58 seconds left on a Sam Hopes' jumper.  Colgate kept in front at the end by canning five of six free-throw opportunities.

     Mark Linebaugh came off the bench to score 13 points for the Red Raiders, who made 22 of 27 free throws on the night.  Campolieta had 12 first-half points, as Colgate led 27-26 at the break.  Alex Barnhill and Antione Johnson paced four Albany players in double figures with 12 points apiece.

Campolieta moved into 17th place on Colgate's all-time scoring list with 1,145 points
