HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Senior linebacker Ron Hampton and senior offensive tackle Ken Kubec have been named co-captains of the 2001 Colgate University football team.

Hampton is a three-year letterwinner for the Red Raiders, who has played in every game since his freshman season. Last year, he played in all 11 games with three starting assignments. He finished with 37 tackles including four quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles. He is projected as a starting inside backer entering fall camp.

Kubec has been a starter since the eighth game of his freshman season. Last year, he earned honorable mention All-America honors by the Football Gazette, and first team all-Patriot League selection.

Colgate was 7-4 last season while posting its fifth straight winning season.
