McCUNE FRACTURES THREE BONES IN RIGHT HAND; OUT FOR SEASON

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate University sophomore quarterback Tom McCune fractured three bones in his right hand during the opening series of the Red Raiders' 23-16 win over Cornell Saturday night at Schoellkopf Field.

McCune had surgery performed by the team's orthpedoic surgeon Ivan Gowan Sunday afternoon at Hamilton's Community Memorial Hospital. He will missed the remainder of the season after having plates and screws placed in two of the fractures.

McCune was enjoying an outstanding season leading Colgate to a 5-1 start. The top-rated quarterback in the Patriot League had connected on 85-of-152 passes for 1,230 yards and 10 touchdowns. He had also run for seven TD's.
