SABO UNDERGOES EMERGENCY APPENDECTOMY, OUT THREE TO SIX WEEKS

HAMILTON, N.Y. –
Colgate University defensive tackle Josh Sabo underwent an emergency appendectomy Friday morning at Hamilton’s Community Memorial Hospital. He will be sidelined for three to six weeks during his recovery.

Sabo, a 6-2, 243-pound freshman, played in Colgate’s opener last Saturday against the University of Connecticut and was listed on the travel squad for this Saturday’s game at Dartmouth College.

Sabo is a graduate of Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He lettered four years with the Eagles while playing fullback and on the offensive and defensive lines in his senior season. He served as captain in his junior and senior years and was a three-time first team all-conference and all-District performer

Sabo was named to Fab 22 by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette twice and to Terrific 25 by Tribune Review in his senior year. He was second team all-state and three-time team MVP under coach Tom Nola.
